Hi there,
Enjoy the April Edition of the Kolibri Games Newsletter. This is where we review the events of the past weeks and keep you updated on recent company and product milestones.
Company Milestones
Kolibris continued to work from home this month. Several weeks in, we are proud of how we adapted to this new situation and have come together as a team: we exchanged home office best practices, continued having all our regular all-hands meetings, even took a new team picture via Zoom and, together, have kept productivity at an all-time high.
We Appeared In
This month, the team over at Pocketgamer published a piece from our blog in which we detail our own actions in response to the challenges posed by COVID-19 and how we adapted to working from home.
In addition, our Co-CEO Janosch gave an interview with the Making Games Magazine on the impact of the crisis on our company and the wider games industry.
The Kolibri Games Blog
On our blog, our Entrepreneur in Residence, Dennis, shared how we tackled some of the challenges we faced, moving the entire studio into home office – everything from video call tools, to office equipment, to supporting our local community.
Further, our Idle Miner Tycoon QA Lead Jonas shared what a normal day in the life of a QA Tester looks like.
Product Updates
On Idle Miner Tycoon, the team continued to integrate our new customer engagement platform and worked on improving our cloud save system.
On Idle Factory Tycoon, we re-worked a few item mechanics, replacing the existing boost system with mystery boosts and turning instant cash items into tokens that can be collected and used on demand.
What Else Happened?
At Kolibri Games, we are in the privileged position of being part of an industry that allows for work to be executed from home.
We recognize that all the challenges we face are exponentially harder for institutions that work in less digital sectors.
Therefore, we supported Quinoa Bildung this month – a Berlin-based charity that aims to ensure that all young people in Germany, regardless of their social and cultural background, have equal opportunities for access to education and a school diploma.
If you’re in a position similar to ours, we encourage you to get active in your community and see who is in need of help right now.
Open Positions
We currently have several open positions in our Engineering and Data Teams. Have a look at the job descriptions here. So, if you know someone, who knows someone, who knows someone… you know the deal.
