The Kolibri Games Newsletter

Hi there,

Enjoy the May Edition of the Kolibri Games Newsletter. This is where we review the events of the past weeks and keep you updated on recent company and product milestones.

Company Milestones

This month, we reached our first milestone in the spring edition of our internal Event Mine Badge Challenge. Over the course of a quarter, all Kolibris collect the badges that we earn by participating in events in Idle Miner Tycoon or Idle Factory Tycoon. An Elite Badge is worth five points, a Gold Badge four, etc. The scoreboard is continuously updated and we managed to score our first reward: an App Store voucher, for that premium game or cool skin you always wanted.

The challenge has been a fun way to exchange strategies and get excited about our own games again.

We Appeared In

The Kolibris were still working from home this month. Our QA Lead Sebastian talked to Pocketgamer.biz about his QA journey, how he got into the industry, useful advice for aspiring QA Testers and how remote work is affecting his team and his job.

May was all about our Head of Recruiting Marina. She talked to Abbie Dickinson from the Games Jobs Direct Podcast about what working at Kolibri Games is like and why acceptance and inclusion are incredibly important in the workplace.

The Kolibri Games Blog

Over on our blog, our Recruiting Team dug deep into their 2019 data pool and put together an infographic containing insights from an entire year of talent acquisition.

On top of that, our Head of Recruiting Marina talked about the challenges that her team had to deal with transitioning to remote recruiting and shared advice with other professionals who are making an effort to continue hiring from home.

Product Updates

This month, our Idle Miner Tycoon team worked hard on re-working our backend authentication and integrating new data events. The team also improved our cheater detection measures and integrated push notifications for our CRM platform.

Kolibri Games Events

Although some of our favorite events this year were canceled to ensure the general safety of the public, the current situation has inspired us and many others to explore more digital ways of bringing people together.

Together with our friends from games:net berlinbrandenburg and the SAE Institute Berlin, our Head of Recruiting Marina hosted a webinar, providing insights into our hiring process and how to prepare for an interview with Kolibri Games. In addition, she gave general advice to young job seekers on how to make outstanding CVs and cover letters.

Open Positions

We still have several open positions in our Engineering and Data Teams. Have a look at the job descriptions here. So, if you know someone, who knows someone, who knows someone… you know the deal.
