The Kolibri Games Newsletter

Hi there!

Enjoy the October Edition of the Kolibri Games Newsletter. This is where we review events of the past weeks and keep you updated on recent company and product milestones.

Company Milestones

October was an eventful month for us! First, our Co-CEOs Janosch and Daniel were awarded as Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the 2020 GP Bullhound Investor Allstars. For the 18th year, GP Bullhound brought together our continent’s brightest and most dedicated tech innovators and organizations in celebration of their contribution to the European technology ecosystem.

Later this month, Kolibri Games was awarded as the fastest-growing German company in the Wachstumschampions (Growth Champions) 2021 rating, published by FOCUS magazine and Statista. We landed first place with an average annual growth rate of nearly 400%!

We Appeared In

Our Co-CEO Janosch made an appearance on the Startup Insider podcast, where he talked about the history of Kolibri Games, the deal with Ubisoft, and the competitiveness of the mobile games market.

In addition, our CEOs spoke with Business Punk about the popularity of mobile games, how not to lose focus in the face of rapid growth and why Berlin is not always the best place to start a company.

The Kolibri Games Blog

Over on our blog, our series on a player’s journey through Idle Miner Tycoon came to an end: the endgame. For our readers, we discovered who is playing our most challenging feature, the Impossible Island, and how many of our players have reached the endgame.

Additionally, our founders sat down for a new video where they discuss decision making at Kolibri Games: how things changed with a growing team, what being player-centric means to us, and how we’re using data to validate our product decisions.

Product Updates

Over on Idle Miner Tycoon, our team implemented the next series of changes and features as results of promising A/B test results. This month, we streamlined the feature unlocks in the early game, avoiding bigger spikes in user churn rates during this stage. In addition, we increased the difficulty of the continent progression, with a specific focus on the first continent (grass).

Kolibri Games Events

Our CEO Daniel held a masterclass at the 2020 Bits & Pretzels Networking Week. He used our growth story to discuss the importance of failure and learning from mistakes when it comes to scaling a team and a product without VC backing.

Open Positions

This month, we are looking for reinforcements for our product teams, so if you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment on free-to-play mobile titles, or know someone who does, make sure to check out the job descriptions on our career page.
